In this week’s Science Fiction or Science Fact, we take a look at Stan Lee & Don Heck’s “The Living Laser.” The Living Laser appeared most often opposite Iron Man, but was created as a way to “fix” errors made with other comic book characters, as public awareness of laser technology increased. 50 years later, the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred, as recent developments have made The Living Laser’s powers almost plausible. You will not be seeing The Living Laser on the big screen anytime soon, but you can learn more about the history of the character byclicking here.

On Wednesday, we introduced you to Mildred Dresselhaus, professor, physicist, and student of material science & manufacturing. Known mostly for her studies of magneto optics, Dresselhaus has had an illustrious career, winning a multitude of awards.
